Annually, the SJCOC staff gets away for a planning retreat. The goal is to hear God and what He wants for the church. Sitting together, it didn't take us long before we each shared that we felt God calling us to Go Deeper (cue Steven Curtis Chapman "Dive" playing while we continued talking!). God birthed the idea of The Challenge 2022 right then and there.
It's simple really: what would your life look like if at the end of 2022 we had pursued God in a way like no other? And what if we did that together? Would we get to the end of 2022 and find that pressing into God was a waste (NOPE!)? What if we didn't press in? If we didn't, would we get to the end of 2022 and wish we had (YES!)?
So here's the deal: we are committed to being ALL IN this year. No half-ways, no maybe-laters, no prioritizing anything above Jesus. And we're inviting you to go ALL IN with us. Weekly, we'll have Challenges that will help us dive a little deeper - run a little harder - and draw a little nearer. There'll be accountability, growth, setbacks, victories, exhaustion, runners high - and most importantly, they'll be a deepening of our walk with Jesus. We'll know Him better, hear Him better, and be ever transformed by HIM.
Maybe this sounds crazy or intimidating, possibly scary. But we firmly believe God will do something AMAZING in us and through us during this process. If we're honest, we're a little scared too. But we aren't walking in fear. We are walking in FAITH that God is doing something GOOD - something BIG - and something AWESOME! We hope you'll come along for the journey.
