Ladies, come together for a special time of fellowship, fun, and creativity! We’re hosting a beginner-friendly Charcuterie Board Class where you'll learn how to design your very own beautiful and delicious charcuterie boards, perfect for gatherings or just enjoying with family and friends. 

Child dedication is a beautiful moment for parents to commit to guiding their children in faith, and for the church community to stand with you in prayer and support. It is a time of reflection, joy, and commitment, where we celebrate the precious gift of life and the responsibility of nurturing children in a Christ-centered home.

The holidays aren’t always cheery. Sometimes they remind us of loss and hardship, isolating us from joy and hope.

Our special Blue Christmas service is a place for remembrance, healing, and hope for those who are carrying pain or loss during this holiday season.. We’re here for you and Jesus is with you. Immanuel.

Come sing carols with us while we watch the Lighted Christmas Parade on Sherman Street in front of the church. We’ll also have a fire with hot cocoa to help keep you toasty. The parade starts at 6 pm.

Come see us at the Community Christmas Tree Lighting. We will have a warm fire and s’mores.

It will take place at the old Baptist Church on Main Street.

Youth 6th-12th grade are invited to join us for our first annual Turkey Bowling. We will also have a campfire with hot dogs and s’mores.

We have partnered with the other local churches for another Community Thanksgiving Meal.  This is a free meal for our entire community  to come eat a delicious meal and enjoy some fellowship.  It will be hosted at Prince of Peace on Saturday, November 23rd, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. It is first come, first served. 

Grab your friends and join us for a life-size version of the classic murder mystery board game, Clue! Open to Youth 6th-12th grade.

Prizes for best dressed (Clue Characters) - so dress up - bring your friends - and we'll see you there :) 

Join us as we watch the Danville Dashers take on the Athens Rock Lobsters. We will meet at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville.

Our SJCOC guys will be frying up some delicious fish.  Don’t worry there’ll be chicken too.  The meal is free as always but this time we will have a free will donation box  set up if you would like to give toward our new Windows. 

Join us from 10:30-11:30  in the Fellowship Hall for our first Operation Christmas Child Packing Party.  We will be filling shoeboxes full of gifts to send to kids all around the world this Christmas!

Bring your lawn chair and yard game and join us at the Maxey’s Barn for an evening full of fun and delicious BBQ. Oh, and we can’t forget the s’mores!

Multi-award-winning Gospel singer/songwriter, Ivan Parker, will be back in concert at SJCOC. This is a free concert but a love offering will be accepted.

September 8th is Back to Church Sunday.  This is a great opportunity to invite your friends and family who haven’t attended church in a while.  Our grill masters will be making hamburgers and hotdogs following the service.

Grab some snacks and come help us cheer on our Spartans for their first home game of the season. We will meet at 6:45 pm at the SJCOC tent near the football field. The game starts at 7 pm.

Join us from 6:30-8pm for Pizza at the Park (All Church Wednesday). We will meet at the shelter at BJ Hacker Park.  Please register so we have enough pizza. 

School will be back in session. Please join us for a Boohoo OR Yahoo breakfast at 9 am in the Fellowship Hall. Together we can celebrate summer, pray for the new season ahead, and enjoy each other’s company as we raise our babies together to look more like Jesus. We will have coffee, fruit, and muffins.

Bruce Paulsrud from Thrivent Financial will be joining us at SJCOC to answer all your questions regarding financial stewardship and how to better prepare for your future..  We will have pizza and salad at 5:30 and he will begin at 6pm. Registration closes on 7/21.

Youth 6th-12th grade are invited to join us for the Underground Olympics Wednesday, June 24th from 5-7pm.  We will have tons of fun Olympic themed games and awesome prizes. 

Bring your lawn chairs and join us FRIDAY JUNE 7th for MOVIE ON THE LAWN where we will be featuring INSIDE OUT! This event is FREE and is open to everyone. The movie will begin at 9pm but come early to set up your seat and get some snacks.

Concession will be available for purchase and all proceeds go to support this year's VBS, The Great Jungle Journey.

The school year is almost over.  To celebrate we are having a GLOW party!  There will be pizza, games and so much fun.  Wear your brightest neon or white clothes to really SHINE under the blacklights. Make sure to bring your friends!!  This event is open to current 5th-12 graders.  

IF:SJCOC 2024 is a chance for women from multiple churches and backgrounds to gather together and celebrate Jesus.  A moment to refocus on our mission to go make disciples because we know our time on earth is short. And if Jesus were to come back in our lifetime, wouldn’t we want to have done everything in our power to reach every person on earth?

We're not just hosting an event. Together, we’re reclaiming discipleship as God’s means to change the world. Join us as we do this together.

Procession of the Cross

SJCOC, Prince of Peace, The United Methodist, and Living Word will join together in a Procession of the Cross. Please join us at 4 pm at the Methodist Church and then we will travel through the community making witness to the self-sacrifice of Jesus. As we journey between the 4 churches we will hear scripture, and worship in song.

Good Friday Service

Join us at SJCO at 6:30 pm for a service of remembrance. This is a wonderful opportunity to meditate on the events that took place on Good Friday, which led to Jesus’ crucifixion

It's time for SJCOC's annual #WhereIsHe Reverse Egg Hunt (it's like a scavenger hunt) for families with kiddos 12 and under! This year there will be 5  bunnies for you to find with all new clues leading to the prizes. We hope your family will join us (Saturday, March 23, 3 pm).

A group of us will be going to Winter Jam ‘24 at the Gainbride Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. You are welcome to join us! We will be meeting at SJCOC at 12:30 pm CT and will depart from there. The doors open at 5:00 pm ET and the concert begins at 6:00 pm ET. Tickets are a $15 donation at the door and seats are first come first serve. *Please note that Gainbride Fieldhouse is a cashless facility.

This year's line-up includes Crowder, CAIN, Katy Nichole, , Newsong, Lecrae, Seventh Day Slumber and more!
